On Sunday our crews took to our home course in the first head race of the season at Head of the Port. All our crews put down a good race and our second years got a taste of varsity head racing. We boated three pairs, two fours in the open 4+ event, and three eight-man crews in the open 8+ category. Our “Boston” Eight crew powered down the course, finishing first in the open 8+ category with a time of 17:33.0. This crew will be heading to Boston, Massachusetts next weekend to compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta. The rest of our team will continue to train and prepare for the Head of the American the following weekend.
The Fall season has begun and our team is looking to recruit new rowers and coxswains for our Novice team. Whether you have been rowing or coxing all of high school, or have never even heard of the sport, we encourage you to come check out our team. No experience is necessary.
