The current home of UC Davis Men’s Crew was built in 1993 with the help of former Cal rower Curt Rocca, alumni, and the University. With 4000-square feet, it houses two bays, one for the men’s team and another for the women’s. It features two docks, both recently built, sitting on Lake Washington, just off of the Sacramento River. The deep water shipping channel allows for a four-lane 2000 meter race course and nearly unlimited rowing territory downstream. The boathouse is maintained by the rowers themselves through frequent boathouse cleanup days. They cut grass, clean boats, paint oars, and attend to any other tasks that may arise. These cleaning days continue the thread line from the founding members of the team, many of whom helped to build this boathouse, through to present day novices.
